Body-Work and Body Therapy
Working with your body
Body work is a generic term meaning simply hands-on work with the body to improve health and function.
Benefits of Bodywork:
- Relaxation
- Relief of back, neck, joint or muscular pain
- Promote healing of Impact injuries
- Improved circulation, flexibility and posture
- Insurance of health and function in later years
Working with your body, rather than "on" it greatly improves the balancing or healing process.
Release Bodywork:
- is Safe and Effective
- works with your comfort - it is pleasant to receive
- works faster and lasts longer because your body learns in the process
- teaches you how to do it yourself
- is performed with you fully clothed
The Bodywork modalites used in Release sessions are effective because the practitioner doesn't balance your body. Much better than that: You do! Rather than the practitioner's deciding what's best for your body, their role is to stimulate the body, provide it with feedback, and support the ensuing self-corrective reflexes.
People often expect bodywork to involve a forceful "correcting" of the body, possibly with a no-pain-no-gain approach. But, Im pleased to say, times are changing...
Your body is designed to balance and heal itself, and it does so all the time, dealing with bumps and cuts and colds. When you notice pain or compromised function, it is tempting to think your body isn't working. It will be working as well as it can, guaranteed, but it may be needing some extra support or information to complete the process quickly and efficiently.
By recognising the ways in which your system is designed to balance itself, supporting and working with those processes, your system can correct itself, in the best way for your individual body, rather than according to how the "ideal" body "should" work or look.
