Zero Balancing

Zero Balancing (ZB) is a gentle form of hands-on body therapy.
It can be defined as the art and skill of balancing body energy and body structure through touch.

Benefits of Zero Balancing:

A new breed of body-mind therapy

An intentional union of energy and structure, Zero Balancing (ZB) is a hands-on modality blends Eastern and Western healing philosophies to help clients find a vibrational balance. Created in the early 1970s by osteopath and acupuncturist Fritz Smith, M.D.

Says Tim Newman, an acupuncturist and Zero Balancer from Cornwall, England, "In Zero Balancing we engage both aspects (energy and structure) simultaneously and deliberately, and work with the overall relationship ... rather than with specific pathology. This can appear vague in theory and amazingly precise in practice because it truly makes no division between body/mind/spirit and engages the receiver in the undivided experience"

"The working focus in Zero Balancing is the interface between the structure of the bone, joints and soft tissues and the energy flowing through our skeletal system", writes Paul Cohen, a New Zealand-based Zero Balancer and acupuncturist. "It uses specific finger pressure and held stretches, called fulcrums, that provide a point of stillness (a stationary point) around which energy and structure can reorganize." The ensuing result, he says, is the release of held tension and pain and the healthy discovery of a new level of integration.
